it’s all about telling stories

I am Wiete Andrasch, a documentary photographer and artist based in Antwerp, Belgium and a little village in Tuscany. My lens searches for the stories behind crafts, street scenes, and portraits that capture the essence of people and their work.

As a people and documentary photographer, I capture authentic stories and character in both individual portraits and broader documentary work. My approach centers on discovering the underlying narratives that define each subject, while focusing on the essential elements that naturally reveal each story's authenticity.

As a documentary photographer, I specialise in capturing authentic moments. Whether it's a craftsman in his workshop or portraits that reveal character, my work is about real stories.

Good documentary photography requires time and patience. I take the time to get to know my subjects so that they feel comfortable in front of the camera. I want to create honest, profound photos that tell a story that would otherwise remain invisible.

I work mainly in Belgium (Antwerp, Ghent, Brussels and surroundings) and Italy (northern Tuscany, Lucca, Florence and surroundings), but I am available for assignments throughout Europe.

In my artistic work I love being on the streets! I experience urban environments as dynamic spaces where multiple narratives intersect and evolve continuously. My artistic work in this area concentrates on documenting these layered urban stories, capturing moments where the complexity of city life reveals itself through careful observation and composition.
